Tekong Skies

Hey all, I'm enjoying my book out now and just wanna share, Pulau Tekong has the most ideal sky for stargazing. It's so clear, no clouds, doing 5BX every morning was something to look forward to lately since Saturn and Jupiter are so prominent. It was also my first time seeing Orion and it's so amaz...

Thanks, guys. Kinda cloudy each night and I need a good dark spot. HDB lights are making it worse. Anybody in the north side? I've reserved that book from the library. Maybe if it's nice, I'll consider buying.

Thanks Weixing. I do not know of any local observations. Singapore is local enough. As for area, I have no idea. Other than online star chart, where else can I obtain it? Enlighten me? Thanks.

Constellations

Ok, I have been observing stars for quite some time now with reference to an online star map. I just want to know whether the star I see in the sky is the one I see on the map. Sometimes the constellations match but maybe lack/excess of 1 or 2 stars. What's the common magnitude for stars they show o...

Ah... Cool... I wonder why when the moon orbits earth, we only see a side of the moon, whereas when earth orbits sun, the sun can see all of earth's sides.

Thanks.

Moon

Hey dudes, just wanna ask about the part of the moon we see. Is it true that we see the same side of the moon every day of the year; since they already have moon maps showing only a part of the moon, e.g fixed location of Mare Crisium.

Thanks.
