Hi,
It look like a fussy patch on the finder, so don't move your scope too fast or you'll miss it.

Anyway, you should be able to see a bright core in a fussy ball when see through your scope.

Have a nice day.

Airconvent wrote:yes!!! thanks to "help line" weixing who is braving it out at Tampines now (he saw Saturn and 3 of its moons in a row earlier!), I managed to locate the comet tonight on my Bino. Was amazed it had moved so far away since 7-8 Jan. If you can catch it tonight or tomorrow night at midnight, look west at M45. Then move 10 deg down in her 5 o-clock direction and its there.
Quite dim on the bino, so I'm guessing it would be a non event on a scope.
Lots of clouds moving around and my neck ached after 2-3 minutes looking near my zenith.
To pass it forward, I also told David Lian and Chung Hooi in Tuas now hot to find it too....
thanks weixing! :D

Hi,
Last nite the sky was clear.ChungHooi sms for ob. At 9.45pm we decided to go Tuas South Drive which I found another accessable unopened road during morning recce.(Adjacent to Tuas South Ave 5)
Our initial hunt for Comet Machhlz was not fruitful.Call Richard for help who in turn get to "Helpline WeiXing".With their guidance ChungHooi spotted with bino at base of Perseus. With C8,we looked at it 140X & 50X.Look like fuzzy ball with bright core but not tail.
Saw also Saturn with three moons lined in row.Especially nice with ChungHooi Pentax 14mm EP.
Southern sky was clear without cloud all the way down to False Crux.
Packed up at 12.30am.
Good location to expore more before it is lost to street lights.
Regards
DL
