OMG this guy is 2 timing.hmm i got a 127 mak, i feel that i isn't very gd at taking pics of dso. I used to have a reflector ( celestron 114 ) then now i have a 127 mak.

I have not been to any gathering but may be if you meet some of the expert here they can help you fix your scope? Sometimes it is not the scope but it is the setting... like collimation.
Astro photo... hmmm... I am looking for Santa. He is flying from north to south. And 1 more que, can a normal tripod which dun have any tracking motor ( Manfrotto 190DB with 410 gear head ) take decent pics of dso using digital cam like canon a80 which only give a max of 15 sec long exposure.

If you want amazing astro photo you MUST have a motor.
I just realize how fast moon was moving when I am taking a shot at it a week ago. You can see my moon photo on my post
I have to keep on tracking it an finally decided to put it slightly to the bottom until I find a good setting, wait for it to be in the center, before I capture the photo.
I think some people here will teach you about mounting etc. I am also using manfrotto, 501 videohead and 055CLB tripod. No astro mounting. No motor.
I saw your postings. You have been here a while... more than me
