Hi,
:offtopic: (going off topics of a while)
Most experts (Ron Wodaski, our own Jean-Yves, etc) do not recommend GM8 for imaging. They recommended GPDX/EM10 or GM11/EM200 depending on the load of OTA and exposure time.
Hmm... any reason why so?? Because GM8 (30lbs max loading) is in the same category as GPDX (22.1lbs max loading) and the dual-axis motor of GM8 got PEC and accept Auto-Guider, which GPDX dual-axis motor drive does not... unless you use SkySensor 2000. Also, the GM8 use 180 tooth worm gear and GPDX only use 144 tooth worm gear. From all the specification and review I saw last time, GM8 should be at least as good as GPDX if not better.
Of course, if you're an expert like Weixing, any mounts can produce fantastic images
I'm not expert... I'm just a beginner with "thick" skin... ha ha ha =P =P =P
Where is your first image taken from the new refractor?
I don't think I'll image through my 120 refractor... it's an achromat and F8, unless for small nebula such as planetary nebula. Anyway, will like to learn and try on piggyback imaging and guiding first.
Have a nice day.
