Hi,
Eh I don't really see the Milky Way in that SG pic... At where huh?
At the top left corner... can also see M7 open cluster.

Anyway, the photo look nice especially the flood light look very 3D from the stars background... :) :)

Have a nice day.

PS: A good flood light is the one that isn't light up.... :P

Hi,

A quick escape down under ... in June 2006.

Image taken in Swan Valley, Perth, with a Canon 30D, 24mm objective, mounted on nAP600 mount, no autoguiding, 10 images 3mn each.

Crux on the left and the Milky Way across to Eta Carina,

Cheers

Jean-Yves

Hi folks,

here's my contribution -

date taken: 29 November 2006

description: the expanding universe

how i took it: tripod-mounted Nikon D200, 17-55mm f/2.8, exposure around 25s. After opening the shutter, waited a couple of seconds at 55mm to burn the stars relatively bright, then slowly zoomed out (by hand) to 17mm ending shortly before the shutter closed. Included some surrounding vegetation in the composition to give a sense of the extraterrestrial. Straight from camera, no photoshop.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Yangchen!

Interesting shot! I'm amazed that you can zoom out manually and yet so smoothly! For a moment I thought the lines were green laser pointers! Haha..

Hi Tachyon,

I turned the zoom carefully. Can't afford 20 of those laser pointers!
