CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
Equipment used:
Olympus E300
Camera Bag as my "Tripod"
30 secs exposure
Sagittarius is at the upper left corner and Scorpius from the left spanning to the center. Image processed in Photoshop... i hope this color look better than the previous ones ??
how i took it: tripod-mounted Nikon D200, 17-55mm f/2.8, exposure around 25s. After opening the shutter, waited a couple of seconds at 55mm to burn the stars relatively bright, then slowly zoomed out (by hand) to 17mm ending shortly before the shutter closed. Included some surrounding vegetation in the composition to give a sense of the extraterrestrial. Straight from camera, no photoshop.

Interesting shot! I'm amazed that you can zoom out manually and yet so smoothly! For a moment I thought the lines were green laser pointers! Haha..
