Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.
Sorry Vincent! Anyway, everyone here is probably not really confirmed until the last week before the trip.
To Riachard and Ian: a friend of mine said he may be going but cannot confirm now, if he goes, he wants to be in the same car with me, so I will take the van instead of Ian's car, anyway thanks for your offer
Jiahao, as Weixing posted earlier, unless there are finally at least 8-10 persons without transport, then we will book the minivan. Since there are quite a few cars driving up to Mersing, it makes more sense to hitch a comfortable ride in our friends' cars rather than squeeze into the minivan.
Richard, thanks for your suggestion, but I have to confirm with my friend if he really wants to go, then I can make the final decision, will keep you updated
Hi Richard,
Under w/o transport, you can change "Alvin?" to "Alvin and Sherry (Alvin's wife)"
Yup, confirmed going... will bring my portable 80mm and 66mm refractors along... 6" classical cassegrain not going because it will take up too much space in vehicle.
I will probably be able to go with my car. My friend may be going, so I can probably pick up 1 passenger. I can only leave Singapore at 4.30pm, so will reach the ob site at about 7 plus pm.
I bought that 66mm from Airconvent for my birding purpose... looks like Sherry has taken control of my new toy...
I won't be bringing Portamount... we will bring only two Feisol CT-3401 carbon-fibre tripods (one with pan-tilt head and one with ballhead) to travel light.

For the GPS coordinates and directions to the observing field near Kampong Telok Sari in Mersing district, check the detailed write-up at SingAstroWiki:
The large field is about 1km or so before (i.e. south of) Kampong Telok Sari, on the right side of the road next to the beach. The roads in that vicinity have improved a lot in the past 2 years. Used to be extremely bumpy, but its well surfaced now. Most road maps still do not show the road network in that area.
