I had little success in detecting these galexies visually with the 4 inch apo even with the help of light pollution filter. The camera did a better job in revealing these faint fuzzies. It is a composite of 41x150s subs at ISO800, captured by TV Genesis SDF and Canon 350D(mod). Dark & Flat calibrated.

Nice photo! With their low surface brightness, you really need dark skies like those in Mersing (and a large aperture
) to observe galaxies visually and to pick out details like dustlanes and spiral structures.

We do it in the dark...

Yup. Aperture rules! It is sort of interesting to visually detect these features on galaxies using a telescope.

Hi, that is the part that i am still trying to get it right. Modified slr with internal IR filter removed is inherent with over sensitivity to red. Custom white balance has to be right to produce 'correct' colour tone. However, it can still be corrected during processing, but apparently i am still not good at it...hee..How come they're reddish??
