Wow! Thanks Vincent for the tip! Saved 50% off my intended buy price. More to plunk in FHTK! Heh...VinSnr wrote:this is so expensive. You guys should check out the apogee one....same manual wheel (but 4 filter only) but they were selling for US$89.00. And it even come with the RGB filters. http://www.apogeeinc.com/product.asp?it ... 6&catid=43
Orion Manual Filter Wheel!
Re: Orion Manual Filter Wheel!

I have the apogee wheel. The workmanship is pretty good. The filter "clicks" into place and I didn't notice any abberation through my eyepiece.rcj wrote:wow, VinSnr, that's a good one! Hopefully it will maintain orthogonal focus with the various filters! oh my, then my CFW8A must be hitting the roof in price! (can't bear to think about FLI's wheels then!)
For the price, it's pretty good. But no idea why the Orion one can be that expensive. It uses the same thumbscrew method and not compression ring. Orion trying to chop carrot here.
