CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
This is my first attempt at getting a LRGB done. This shot of the Lagoon Nebula was done over two nights using Meade DSI Pro III through the WO Meg 90. The lum was with a Ha filter and a stack of 3 one-min subs. The RGB are also stacks of one-minute subs.
The LRGB seemed to loose some of the nebulosity of the luminance image.

@Cataclysm
Thanks. I tried longer exposure of 5 mins but get a completely over-exposed pic. Even at 2 mins, there is some over-exposure. Are there any tweakings that can be done to have long exposure but still get good subs? Will like to learn from your experience.
Yeah I try to get longer integration time but sometime the clouds do not co-operate. Like I shared in an earlier posting, the lum was from 3 good subs out of 25 one-min subs. These three were probably from timely respite created in the gaps between clouds. The rest were not usable at all.
