CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
The sky was clear last night at Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Took the opportunity to try the modified Canon 60D. The Canon 60D IR Filter has been replaced with Astrodon UV/IR block filter.
Here is a single frame shot of the Triffid and Lagoon nebula at ISO 800 using the Pentax SDUF2 telescope
no in camera noise reduction for this 150sec image.
Encouraged by the results continue with 10X150sec lights and 5 darks.
Tried post processing with the free DeepSkyStacker 3.2.2. Unfortunately failed. Apparently only the later Beta versions supports the 60D.
Has anyone got this Beta version or know of any other softwares that can process 60D raws.
"The importance of a telescope is not how big it is, how well made it is.
It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."
