The areas near Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Bahar is super dark in the nite, but going there in the nite can be really spooky. I remembered once, on a veri clear nite, I managed to catch a faint glimpse of the milky way, and the M42 was veri prominent( like 3D), while I was digging in  . I tried to peek at it with the nite Hawk, but  :( alas, it is not a real 'scope' for astro, thus the view is not impressive. :?
The place i have all the access :)
I went two days ago with Mr Goh Clement.

oh the milkyway is a difficult object but not impossible.
ching aeng and charlie (now undergoing NS) used to organise trips to Pulau Ubin to see it. the reclamation site that john recommended is also not bad but abit remote. weixing and company are there tonight to do survey and report milkyway....present! I was tempted to go but very tired after the wedding dinner as well as sleeping at 3am everyday lurking in singastro!
hopefully next Sat when the moon is new,the sky is clear and we will be able to go and try it out..

I still have not taken out my scopes since Mersing! sigh...
