Nice place!
Just curious: How are the rooms and does the resort have external lights, especially during weekdays? (since I can't really join on weekends, unfortunately)
Oh, what's the name of this place?

Thanks for the photos Richard2 and Remus. The place still looks good after all these years. And I recognized so many old and new faces too! Was it Carole's birthday? Belated greetings! An that "starfinder" club. I initially thought it was led by Gavin

Re: Mersing Expedition May 18-20
Thanks for the reports and photos.
Such blue skies during the daytime and star-spangled skies at night!
You guys were most fortunate to have two mostly clear nights there, esp considering how cloudy it has been almost every day since early March, one of the longest stretches I can remember (and it's not even the year-end Monsoon season). Almost 2 1/2 months of very cloudy conditions, and you arrived at Mersing just when the clouds went away.
Someone must have brought a 10mm achromat to bore the clouds. So they went elsewhere in search of big aperture to "tekan".
Seriously, it's good to know that the skies at Telok Sari (Mersing) are still dark. End-to-end Milky Way. Wonderful.
Esp like Kelvin's wide-field Milky Way shot. Must have been taken with that 16mm lens that I saw last year there.
To think there's a whole astro society in KL named after me. Airconvent will agree that they should grant me honourary membership!

Awesome Milky way, Kelvin! But that sky glow seems to be getting nastier nowadays.cataclysm wrote:2 clear nights! What Joy!! Hi folks the nightscape below clearly described the mood of the 2nd night when it was at it's best with very well defined Milkyway rising at the background.![]()

This is the link to the chalet

There are no street lamps along the area so after turning off the lights it can get really dark.
