Some items does enhance and simplifies the process of planetary imaging.
1. Aperture of telescope.
Of course there's a saying the bigger the better, but, it's also puts more difficulty to bring it around and set it up especially if you dun have a vehicle like me. If its permanently set up at home then it's not a problem.
2. Choice of camera
Using a dslr does do the job but for better results, you can consider getting a 2nd hand toucam or a dedicated planetary cam like the imaging source cameras. They typically captures the video in avi formats and once u starts to use registax, it registers the good frames, stacks them and gives u the final stacked image. Mono does perform better than osc.
3. Seeing
With the best equipment around if seeing is bad, it's equal to none haha.
I started out abit on planetary and its fun. Keep practicing and you will see yourself improving. Btw, nice capture of Jupiter!
