We don't even reach 4%.
While waiting for more volunteers, can we have some suggestions to locations for the event?MooEy wrote:actual day of the singastrofest i will be there, prolly with my scope(s) and some of my ginas, as for being part of the commitee/subcom, not likely. not much motivation now, since most likely i will be one of those NATO.

I suggest SP (assuming we can get the permission from the admin and help from the SP astro group).

Proposed Dates:-
1. 4-5 Dec 2004 (3/4 waxing moon)
2. 11-12 Dec 2004 (no moon)
3. 17-18 Dec 2004 (1/2 waning moon)
Important Criteria for Location
1. Public Accessibility , etc near to MRT, Bus Interchange,..
2. Open viewing areas such as stadium, field, Roof top..
3. Display & Workshop Areas such classrooms, lecture rooms, etc
4. FOC or very low charges
Important Criteria for Dates (2D & 1N)

3. Special Night/Day Sky happenings
We can make use of the 'Poll' feature of the website to get responses to the location and dates. If it is an over-nite event, the later 2 dates with little or no moon would be preferable. Will it clash with exams for the poly people?Lee wrote:

Can some of the poly people chime in with remarks, please? If it does not clash with the exams, having it at SP will help to give more exposure to SP and the astro club.
Does anyone know of any special happenings in June?

Oops, just check and found out that i'm the only active 'spastroians' down here. Thanks for showing such an interest in SP! I'll get in touch with the current batch of committees and will definitely get back to you guys here.
And
the proposed dates do not crash with our exams, instead, its the start of a new academic year (the poly system now starts at december, so we'll spend christmas in the school
).
That's all for now.
Regards,
Sam

Hi,
It should be:
1. 4-5 Dec 2004 (1/2 waning moon)
2. 11-12 Dec 2004 (no moon)
3. 17-18 Dec 2004 (1/2 waxing moon)
Anyway, I think 17-18 Dec 2004 is a good date... If the weather is good, we still can see some DSO under a 1/2 waxing moon. But if the weather is not that good (**touch wood**), at least we still can show case the moon.
Have a nice day.
You got the moon phase name wrong...Proposed Dates:-
